Hyper Princess Pitch, an arena shooter of explosions and Christmas and piledrivers

Hyper Princess PitchThere are precisely two things that come to mind after seeing the trailer for Daniel Remar’s Hyper Princess Pitch: “WTF did I just watch” and “Holy crap I want to play that”. These are the correct responses.

With a release date set at December 1st, the game appears to be a twin-stick style arena shooter, although I saw a Touhou style danmaku boss battle mixed in there between the explosions and fire and rainbow lasers. Have a look at said trailer below, and check out Daniel’s home page for more infos.

‘Cell: Emergence’ it definitely totally is a tumor

Cell: Emergence I was totally going to shop Arnold in but got lazy.

I was going to post this earlier, when I first saw it. But I wasn’t entirely sure what exactly it was I was watching. So I did a little more digging and then a little more. Ultimately, I’m still not toally sure. What we’ve got here is the trailer for the abstract voxel RTS meets shooter Cell: Emergence from New Life Interactive, LLC.

If I am understanding things correctly, you’ll be taking control of a tiny nanobot working to save a patient from within at the cellular level. You’ll be battling the rampant propagative powers of cancerous tumors and insidious infection by utilizing both the natural immune response mechanisms as well as direct means of elimination. Modified my NERF Maverick because it’s a slow news day

Nerf Maverick Revolver You guys remember my NERF Maverick, it got a review right out of the gate when I started up posting again back in August. The point is I just finished putting it back together after a quick little modification. Why? Because if it can shoot further, why shouldn’t it. I took some pictures along the way, I suppose because I’m some sort of exhibitionist, either that or I was desperate for something to post as a result of a lack of new news. Orcs Must Die’s first real PC DLC just days away

Indie Game Orcs Must Die Lost Adventures DLC

If you’ll recall the first round of Orcs Must Die DLC was a bit of a disappointment after the high that was the game’s release. It was really just a handful of new weapons, that had open slots in the spell book ready and waiting for them. If I were a jaded man I’d say they were planned from the beginning and yanked out post production to reintroduce later and milk a few more dollars out of consumers. You know, the kind of jaded that would love the game DLC Quest? Anyways the new DLC is called ‘Lost Adventures’ and features 5 new levels, reverse courses for the old levels, 3 new monsters, and even a new trap. The DLC will be available on Steam November 8th, 2011 for the introductory price of $2.99. How about a little trailer after the jump, oh and a press release.  ↓ Keep reading

Minecraft Marriage Proposal Roller coaster  It’s easy during the hustle bustle of the gaming industry to forget just how big a part of peoples lives games are. A perfect example of this is one Minecraft player building one of the biggest moments of his life into the humble low res blocks that make up the Minecraft landscape. Although, did you notice how most of it was in lava? Yeah fire and brimstone! And as far as that glow stone goes, yeah that came from the hellish Nether. Alone in Dreams intro and tutorial series kicks off

Alec Holowka is one of those indie guys that just can’t seem to stop. Since developing Aquaria with Derek Yu he has not only been highly active in the development scenes of Unity, FlashPunk and his own Monocle Engine, worked to port Aquaria to iPad, began development of a new 2d adventure story game called Marian, was instrumental in helping Indie Game The Movie off the ground, and a mind-boggling amount of other stuff. And now to coincide with development of yet another new game in production with artist Frederico Machuca called Alone in Dreams he is producing a series of videos to not only show off the game, but to provide some instruction on development of 3d games in Unity to the community at large.

‘Stealth Bastard’ incontrovertibly stealthy decidedly bastardish FREE like a fox on PC

I haven’t the foggiest as to what I just wrote in the title field of this post, but I like it so it’s staying. More importantly we’ve got ourselves a great looking 2D stealth game for the overly reasonable price of free. Yeah that’s zero dollars, zero Microsoft points, and zero Wii thingers. Stealth Bastards was released today by Curve Studios the creators of the pretty rad Explodemon which also just recently made its PC debut. Looks like all us PC fans out there are in luck! Well what do we have here? A delicious little main character having his existence threatened by being potentially used as a baking ingredient? The words of the great internet sage “om nom nom” can best describe my initial reaction to the proposition of Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory. It’s a 2d platformer featuring dynamic levels and an aesthetic that excels at endearing. Developer Turtle Cream is readying the game for release later this year with a beta phase starting as early as this month.
