Crazy Dave is stepping up, layin it down, and showing anyone who dares to front what a man with a speech impediment can do.At least now I have some idea what Dave did with all the money he made off selling suburban agricultural defenses. Check out the video after the jump. Keep reading
Danny B completes Binding of Isaac soundtrack, loves us all enough to give us one more free track

Bearded musician and BFF of indie devs everywhere, Danny Baranowski, has put the finishing touches on the soundtrack for Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl’s soon to be released zeldaishroguelikeshooter The Binding of Isaac. Since he’s such a lovely guy, he put up a second track free for download off the album, and I don’t know about you, but for me Thine Wrath… just oozes epic out of every moment of its sonic reverberation. Give it a listen below, and check out Danny B’s BandCamp page for more like the soundtracks to some games you’ve probably never heard of like Canabalt, Steambirds and Super Meat Boy, and bookmark it so you know where to buy the full soundtrack when it comes out!
Tales of Video Game Fails – Episode 1: Sega Channel
You may remember the Watch Jesse Play videos in which Jesse would pick out random oldschool arcade titles and play them, often adding his own special brand of commentary. Well Jesse is back again and this time has recruited golden pipes of Two Fedoras’ own Brooks Bishop to educate you kiddies on the failures of some truly amazing and innovative products of the gaming industries past. Their inaugural episode “Tales of Video Game Fails: Sega Channel” will run you through possibly one of the most visionary products to have ever come out of SEGA and its rise to failure.
Daily Fig: Figma Append Miku
Ball-jointed poseable figures aren’t usually my thing. Something in me much prefers the scale, quality and downright cuteness of Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid line. But like a lot of anime and figure fans I just couldn’t help myself in this case because most would agree: there’s something about Miku.
Read on for pictures and commentary.
Congratulations IndieCade Finalists 2011
Now I’ve never personally officiated a contest before, so I am not entirely sure how this all works. But I tend to view the concept of “finalists” a tad differently than most seem to. For instance, the IndieCade decided it had roughly a thousand finalists. Now see when I hear “finalist” I think “Final Four” or something equally limited. I only mention it because I would really like to get back to Minecraft 1.8 and I had to stop to type up this list. Congratulations to all the finalists, and good luck!

Sponsor an Extra Life team as it games for 24 hours for the chillins

I’ve said in the past that I’ve always thought gamers were among the most generous people around. It’s a belief that gets reinforced time and time again as new examples of their charitable nature pop up numerous times throughout the year. Today a friend I hadn’t spoken to in several months approached me inquiring if I still played games, the question was strangely specific and too the point with little to no warm up, so it was obvious something was afoot! As it turns out something was, she was stopping by my chat window to let me know her RIFT guild had decided to take part int he Extra Life charity drive and she was seeking sponsors. Keep reading

Interview: Kobold’s Quest developer SuckerFree Games
On a recent edition of the 2f XBLIG Update Cast, we groped a little game by the title Kobold’s Quest. Brooks and I were pretty immediately aware that we were looking at a game that was a cut above the rest. Unfortunately, we tend to not do full reviews of games that are fairly dependent on a local multiplayer — mainly because we are game critics and have no friends. So when Danielle Dorsey of SuckerFree Games, the developer behind Kobold’s Quest, got in touch with us to do a full review, we decided instead to do our first ever interview. Catch the full interview below the fold! Keep reading
Review: The Clockwork Man: The Hidden World
It seems as if one Clockwork Man wasn’t enough for Total Eclipse Games, they had to go and craft a second. The original Clockwork Man was a classically inspired point-and-click adventure game that we reviewed previously, and found to be an enjoyable casual romp. The sequel manages to take the existing property and formula and improve upon it in basically every way. Keep reading
Hitbox Team’s ‘Dustforce’ seeks to tell Scruffy’s adventures
You think the life of a janitorial worker is simply schedule conflicts involving nudie mags and office romances with scrub buckets? Well think again, it involves wicked acrobatic platforming and parlous adventure into dark and trechorous places! Though Hitbox Team’s IndiePub winning Dustforce doesn’t actually have anything to do with Scruffy, it did just get some new screens, and a notably bad ass intro to wet your appitite for its late 2011 Steam PC and Mac release. Hit the jump to have a looksee. Keep reading
