Dungeon Defenders gets free Halloween DLC

Dungeon Defenders Halloween DLC

In case you didn’t know, I’m pretty hooked on Trendy Entertainment’s Dungeon Defenders and by hooked I of course mean addicted. So when the Halloween DLC released on Steam I couldn’t wait to hop all up in it. You’ll gain access to eight new outfits for your little defenders. Four of the outfits come ready unlocked and all set for masquerading. Meanwhile the other four are unlocked by completing the Halloween quest on insane difficulty. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s pretty tough stuff! Also accompanying this free DLC is the 7.05 patch, so hit the jump and check out its notes. Keep reading

Inferno+ announced for PC/Mac

Radiangames Inferno+ PC

Hot on the heels of the release of Super Crossfire we’ve got news that Radiangames is returning to the Inferno franchise to bring it to the PC/Mac. We don’t know much more then that, other than that they plan to bring it to as many platforms as possible including OnLive and hopefully Steam. The original Inferno first released on the Xbox Indie Games platform and featured a sort of Action RPG meets Twin-Stick shooter gameplay that we really enjoyed. Luke Schneider broke the news on the Radiangames blog and promised more details soon.

Wizorb ready for prime time on the PC

It’s been awhile since we reviewed Tribute Games’ Wizorb on the Xbox Live Indie Games platform. So we were well over due for some new WIzorb news. Well we finally got some and it’s good news for all you mouse and keyboard supremacists. Wizorb will be making the leap from the console to the pc on November 7th when it releases on the GamersGate platform. It will support gamepad peripherals as well as mouse and keyboard and apparently you can even play it with just the mouse if you do so desire. Other than that it sounds like this one will be a straight port.

Capy Games’ ‘Super T.I.M.E. Force’ divulged thanks to IGF entry

Super T.I.M.E. Force from Capy Games

Alright so I have absolutely no clue what’s actually going on in this video. There is some shooting going on, lots of bullets coming from lots of guns, and more platforming going on than I could ever hope to make sense of. And despite this, I have unrelenting faith in the Capy Games crew to make all this insanity work. It is pretty funny how this game got announced though. The Capy team entered the game into this years Indie Games Festival competition and as a result it showed up on the submissions list. I guess at that point they decided to run with it. I hope you’re paying attention corporate zombies, when the cats out of the bag don’t just stand there and say “there is no cat.” Hit the jump for some hot trailer goodness. Keep reading

‘Magicka: The Stars are Left’ expansion announced, teased, vaguely dated

magicka expansion Arrowhead Game Studios The Stars are Left

I tried to like Magicka I really did, but in the end it just wasn’t for me. But I understand there is a lot of folks out there that just adore it and so this post goes out to them. This winter Magicka creators Arrowhead Game Studios will be releasing their largest expansion to the franchise yet. You can find all the details and Cthulhu based features of the expansion below but I did find one feature particularly compelling. As long as the host of a game owns the expansion all who join that particular game will also have full access to the content. That’s a pretty slick deal and a pretty classy offering from Arrowhead and publisher Paradox Interactive. There’s also a “trailer” down there but it’s really more of a teaser, either way hit the jump have a read get a tease. Keep reading

On your mark, get set, Halloween Steam Sale!

Steam Halloween Sale
These days it’s becoming more news worthy to report on when Steam isn’t running a sale. But the holidays are usually still a little special with unusually good deals at an unusually high volume. Speaking of which, there is a crap ton of games on sale from now until October 31st on sale. The ammount of discount varies and I’m not about to go list them all for you guys since there is like ten thousand of the things. So head on over to the sale page and scour to your heart’s content. I already see a few holes in my library that this sale will fill.

Secrets of Grindea, more like secrets of unlocking my heart

Secrets of GrindeaSo given that I’m a huge sucker for action RPGs and lushly animated pixel art, it should come as no surprise that I was blown away by this teasing bit of video.

Secrets of Grindea is described as an action RPG with a skill point based system with no caps, with the possibility of  up to 4 player co-op. You can see in the video that equipped gear shows up on your character too. Hopefully the team can keep this up, because I think it has some real promise. Video and such after the jump.

Soulcaster I and II OST’s now available

I don’t know if you all knew this or not, but MagicalTimeBean’s Ian Stocker was initially an industry music guy. He laid down tracks for some pretty big games and you can read more about that in our interview with him. The point is he’s good and so is the music he created for Soulcaster I & II. Both albums are now available on Bandcamp at the excellent price point of whatever-the-hell-you-wana-pay. Hit the jump and have a listen. Keep reading

We hyper-analyze Team Meat’s next game teaser

Yesterday we got a nice little surprise in the form of what I suspect was originally sketched on the back of a bar napkin utilizing a hot chicks eyeliner, four sprite caps, and seven droplets of blood. Anyways Brooks and I have been going back and forth hyperanalyzing this particular document. We suspect the T shaped element to the right-middle is in fact a pair of underpants. Keep reading

Hypership Out of Control iOS FREE 1-day only only only

Hypership Out of Control free for 24 hours.

Remember that Hypership Out of Control game? We do, because we reviewed the hell out of it — not once but twice. After all it is on multiple platforms, plus we wanted an excuse to play it a little more. The point is we liked this one both times and suggested you pick it up already. But if you’ve been hesitant, likely because you’re full of self loathing, you can go ahead and pick up the iOS version starting tomorrow for FREE. The sale will only be on for a single day so be sure to grab it and tell your friends.
