There’s no shortage of things wrong with Skyrim. I mean in practically every aspect of the game there are bugs, flaws, and peculiarities. And yet the game has captured the hearts of millions, my own included. So with great anticipation I give you all the significantly shorter than expected *dramatic pause* Steam Skyrim patch notes. FunInfused Games’ VolChaos hits XBLIG at last

Kris Steele of FunInfused Games is one of the most prominent figures in the XBLIG community. You’ll remember him as one of the organizers of the Indie Games Summer Uprising and creator of several indie gems on the platform. Somewhat amusingly enough, he organized the Indie Games Summer Uprising in cooperation with Dave Voyles and didn’t even have a game in it — that’s selflessness! But as it turns out the big reason was VolChaos flat out wasn’t ready for prime time and rather than rushing it out to try and squeeze it into the lineup he toiled away for the next few months. Fortunately the wait is over and the 2d side scrolling platformer that’s sure to set your little sprite soul on fire has gone gold, been pressed, and ready for your XBLIG downloading pleasure!

Science puzzler SpaceChem goes free for schools

We’ve come a long way from Oregon Trail and Math Blaster attempting to teach via gaming. With the likes of SimCity and now Minecraft being used in the classroom to facilitate learning gaming has never been so relevant. So I’m very happy to see that Zachtronics Industries is now offering licenses for their fascinating algorithmic puzzle game SpaceChem free for schools through the end of January 2012.

If you’re a school or just want to learn more, read the official news at Zachtronics Industrie SpaceChem site  or go ahead and buy it on Steam. It’s awesome.

Awesome Games Studios’ Oozi: Earth Adventure 2 now available

Platformers are a common site on the XBLIG but rarely do they show the kind of promise that Oozi: Earth Adventure Ep2 does. Then again, you all know I’m a softy when it comes to visually stunning 2D platformers featuring classically inspired gameplay. So it’s pretty easy to see why I’m keen on Awesome Games Studioes’ Oozi titles. The latest installment in the Oozi series is ready and waiting to receive your 80 Microsoft Points.

EA SWTOR page’s Waiting Room gets you ready for login queues

SWTOR Waiting Room Lulz
With the upcoming weekend stress test for EA / BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic quickly approaching it seems they’re getting a little preview of their own of the mayhem to come.  Browsing the site today I’ve come across the impending doom of server load just on the main webpage.  I hope it gives them an idea of what to expect come release since I’d really hate  to experience any sort of delay in rocking out with my light saber out.

Indie Royale double dog dares you and the Humble Bundle is back…again

Indie Royale goes blind bundle pre-order Really Big bundle

Seems like this is becoming a routine set of posts. It may come to the point where we relegate these types of posts to a category all their own. The reality is however that they keep taking money off my poor ass. This time I don’t even know what I bought as the Indie Royale is daring its fans to pre-order the next bundle sight unseen. Yup, it worked!

Meanwhile the Humble Bundle is just going about business as usual with its Introversion bundle featuring a whole damn pile of Introversion games: Uplink, Darwinia, Multiwinia, and DEFCON. Oh and tossed in for good measure are Aquaria, Crayon Physics, and a couple tech demos.

Review: Red Tie Miner

Review Red Tie Miner XBLIG Indie Game Review

Gaming and mining have gone together for a long time now, but as you’ve no doubt noticed the theme as a whole has been on the upswing as of late. Square dirt is just in vogue. But there is more than one way to approach a block of dirt, Maximinus turns Miner Dig Deep on its head and puts you to work escaping from the depths (rather than creating them) of their new game Red Tie Miner.
