The first, more normal, crash was just during gameplay error code 4 and the second was infinite loop in the "resume. re-start, exit game" menu system post death. The menu error didn't result in an error code, I just had to terminate the game by going back to dashboard and relaunching it.

The frame rates seemed to be most noticeable on the larger maps when there were lots of creatures on screen. As well as sometimes a stutter when you picked up items and they did their little zipping animation across the screen.

I played the game in marathon style for a few hours so it's possible there may be a memory leak somewhere? I'm not a programmer so I am just speculating.
