XBLIG Update: Mash It Edition

What’s that? You’re really tired of waggling and would like do some button mashing now? Well lucky for you we’ve got just the thing you need in today’s XBLIG Update. Hell, as if that wasn’t enough, we even have a game that looks like it is worth playing to boot! You know the drill, all descriptions of these games are that of the developer and our comments will be STRONG!!

Shake!

Shake! – Just bash the buttons & spin the sticks and send your Cola Can through the stratosphere.

Developer: squarebananas

Price: 80 Microsoft Points

You mash the buttons and your soda zooms off, delivering its CO2 payload directly to all layers of the atmosphere. Seriously, that’s all though. Should have at least gone with the beer angle, at least then you could have gotten the drunks to part with their hard earned, stolen, or borrowed dollar. On the bright side, “squarebanana” is a hilarious name.

Dysnomia

Your ship has made an emergency landing near the mining outpost on Dysnomia. All attempts to make contact with the base have failed. Your mission: Repair your ship and find out what happened here. A fast-paced futuristic shooter with exploration and survival elements.

Developer: Team Mango

Price: 240 Microsoft Points

This one is looking decent, I actually played through the demo and decided to buy it. So we’ll see how the full version goes. Be sure took for a full review in the future.

Productivity Killer: Redder

Oh man Thursday, it’s not quite Friday but oh so close. There is a pretty good chance you are doing one of two things right now, either day dreaming about Stripper Chewy or watching the NCAA Tournament in a browser window the boss doesn’t know you have open. Whichever the case may be, we both know you aren’t working. Fortunately, I have a third, better, option for you today, a browser based platformer called Redder.

You’re an astronaut whose jalopy ship has malfunctioned and forced an emergency landing on an alien world. It’s now your job to gather up a buncha crystals to power your ship. Redder is the latest game developed by Anna Anthropy and is pretty amusing, so go score some rock.
